Report from Miss Featonby:
"Today we celebrated the end of our football coaching with Coach Ryan, from Cheltenham Football Club, but we also kicked off our intra-house sports competitions for the spring term. The children in Year 3 and 4 came together to compete in a football tournament, with their houses. Each house group was split into two teams, both with a mixture of Year 3 and 4 children. A team of eager Year 6 Sport Leaders volunteered to help lead the event which included: leading their house teams in a warm up, before the competition, as well as organising their house group throughout the event. Some of the Sport Leaders were team managers, some were timers and scorers and some Year 6 leaders even took to the role of referee.
Throughout the afternoon, each and every child contributed to their house team scores, regardless of a win, draw or loss. The points gained in this competition will be combined with the points awarded in the Year 5 and 6 football competition, which will then determine the 2016-2017 Intra-house football house cup winners!
This afternoon, the children represented their house group fantastically, demonstrating their new and improved football skills. Their confidence and enthusiasm for football has grown week by week. Coach Ryan was thrilled with their effort and even more impressed with their positive attitudes. It was an afternoon enjoyed by all!
By the end of the competition and the end of the day, all of our teams said their sad goodbyes to Coach Ryan for his hard work in coaching both classes over the last 6 weeks. We also said a huge thank you to Ryan and all of the Year 6 leaders who volunteered their time to make the event run as well as it did.
Thank you to everybody who made today possible. The children in Year 3 and 4 really enjoyed themselves. Well done."
Great to read Elder; well done!
