Our final session at Tewkesbury School Library was extremely busy and exciting. The focus for this session was non-fiction texts and the way they are organised in the library. We learnt about the Dewey system and had to complete a story replacing words with Dewey codes from an alphabetical list of topics. We were then challenged to complete a quiz and actually find non-fiction books on the shelves. This was hectic and exciting but it really helped us to navigate our way around the library. Reece, Paddy, Joel and Jack were the first team to complete the challenge. Some children were also able to take part in 'Accelerated Reader' quizzes for the final time before returning the books that we had been loaned.
Many many thanks to Mrs. Baird and Mrs. Smith at Tewkesbury School for accommodating us for 4 fantastic weeks. They have given up their free time to ensure that we had a brilliant experience. Thank you. This obviously forms part of our ongoing transition arrangements with Tewkesbury School for our Y6 pupils. We look forward to how we are next involved.
