Tirlebrook took part in the first rounders competition of the year at Tewkesbury School. With 8 schools in the running, Tirlebrook had to push themselves hard and work together to try and gain a top finishing place in the event. Our team successfully won two out of three matches during the first round of the competition, with a win against Carrant Brook and Mitton. Our points were then collated to determine who would play who next, for the top 3 awards. There was some fantatsic batting, fielding and bowling skills on show from Tirlebrook and their team work and communication with one another was superb. However, our opponent, Deerhurst and Apperley, managed to gain one and a half more rounders than us in the play offs and we ended the day in fourth position overall, just missing out on a runners-up medal. Despite our loss, the attitudes of the children were positive. Another successful sporting event for Tirlebrook Primary and yet another sport that the children can enjoy together.
Squad: Ben Radbourne (captain), Harriet Bethel, Lucie Cummings, Jessica Evans, Sam Janes, Esme Smith, Alfie Dowding, Danny Etheridge, William Haslum, Daisy Johansen, Zac Jones and Fraser Matharu
