Shane, a Christian from Tewkesbury Baptist Church, came to visit us this afternoon. He chatted with us for over an hour about his Christian beliefs, and despite all the scientific knowledge in the world, why he believes in God.
He made clear that some Christians disagree about god, for example the way genesis is interpreted.
I asked the you to be very open and ask questions; you responded brilliantly...
I wrote a few of the great questions that you asked down:
Do you believe in the Big Bang Theory?
What story in the Bible would you travel back in time to?
What is 'God'? A human or a 'thing'?
How does being a Christian affect your everyday life?
Do you believe in heaven and hell? Do you believe in an afterlife? What is heaven in your eyes?
Did God create the 7 planets?
Do you think Christians are treated fairly?
What are your views on the 10 commandments?
Do you feel you actually 'talk' to God?
I really hope it has made you see what a Christian is about; it was very kind of him to give up his time and come and see us. Shane was very open and honest about his beliefs and we hope it has given you an insight in what Christianity means for him. You represented the school well and I was really impressed with how the discussion developed and how you listened and responded to each others comments so considerately.
If you want to share anymore thoughts on here, please do.
