It was a fantastic finale to the football season for Tirlebrook as the team lifted the District Cup to add to the League Championships secured earlier in the term. Following the round-robin group stages, and wins over Mitton and Carrant Brook as well as two draws, Tirlebrook were drawn to face Queen Margaret's in the semi-final. Two Finley Gardiner goals secured a 2-0 victory and safe passage to the final where Mitton were to be faced once more. After dominating much of the possession and hitting the bar and post as well as the Mitton goalkeeper making a number of good saves, Aaron Lund was forced to make a superb last-minute stop to prevent Mitton from scoring from a swift counter-attack. A 0-0 draw led to a penalty shoot-out. Charlie Kendrick, Sam Mills and Oisin Moseley were successful from the spot and led the team to victory. Well done to everyone - the team spirit and positive attitude on display was great!
