We had a fantastic time in maths today.
We looked at these shapes and discussed how we saw them grow / change / develop. This in itself was intriguing because so many of us saw it in a different way.
We then talked about the numbers of squares we could see in each pattern and how we could calculate what would be in shape 100 etc.
Can anyone remember the formulae we came up with for this?
- When we discovered the pattern I remember a certain member of the class saying "that's amazing!" (Which, as a teacher, is just so great to hear) And many others were excited by the discovery too! Well done you Elder Mathematicians!
