I hope you have enjoyed the topic about America; after half term you will return to a Tudor topic - which is a really interesting one given the Tudor history in Tewkesbury.
You are now over halfway through your time in Y6, hasn't it flown by?! There are a lot more exciting things to look forward to too; one of the key things coming up is the Y6 Speaking Competition, which you might want to start planning over half term.
For the first round (in front of peers in the class) we encourage everyone to have a go - we will do this on Thursday 28th Feb and Friday 1st March; the most successful 6 will then have a little bit of time to tweak their presentations and perform (at the beginning of March) for a place in the final at Tewkesbury School (towards the end of March).

The speeches shouldn't be any longer than three minutes and although bullet point notes can be used, it’s better that students don’t read from a script. They can choose any topic to talk about that they like and can choose the purpose. Last year we mainly had informative and persuasive speeches. Topics ranged from ‘Ireland’ to ‘Unicorns’.
