We have had a brilliant week this week thinking about what little changes we can make in class and around school to ensure that we are supporting each other. Amongst other things, we have been baking with Year 4 for the bake sale and writing anti-bullying poetry. Take a look below...
Today we have learnt about the Hindu (and Sikh) festival of Diwali. We studied the five days of the festival and what Hindus do on each day. We also recapped the story of Rama and Sita. This afternoon, we were lucky enough to have a Diwali dance workshop where we retold the story from the Ramayana. Have a look at some of the pictures from our amazing dance below...
This morning, we imagined what living with rationing would have been like by baking ginger cookies. They only have 20g of sugar in and no eggs, as they were both heavily rationed during the war. (We did add a little bit of honey though as that was not rationed if you were lucky enough to own a bee hive!) Did you like the taste of them?
