I hope you can all recharge your batteries and be ready to give your best again on Monday.
It has been great to see children finding the time to share their homeworks with the class from the World War 2 Topic Homework tasks...
To finish off our evacuee work, we imagined we were an evacuee (taking inspiration from stories such as Goodnight Mister Tom, Friend or Foe and Letters from the Lighthouse) from London and we had been evacuated to the Cotswolds. We imagined we were writing our first messages home on a postcard...some children used a magnifying class to write very small, with the limited space they had available to them.
We used the distance from the sun to the different planets in the solar system as a way to understanding rounding today.
We were also amazed how far some planets were from the sun and exactly how close we are to it!
Please be aware that we are planning our Isle of Wight 2019 Residential Information evening for Monday 15th October 2018 at 18:00 - 18:30.
The half hour session will provide you with all the initial details that we can share at this stage and all the key information you need to know about our proposal for the Year 6 2019 residential.
Members of Elder Tree Class are invited to attend with their parents.
Following some queries: If you are wanting to take your child to one of the open mornings at Tewkesbury School, can you please pick complete an absence form from the office in order for it to be authorised.
There was some great understanding of rounding on show today. We used a 'diamond paper' to show what we have learned this week...
What a great first woodland workshop, making bird feeders and shelters from the rain!
Put your bird feeder in the fridge (so the lard can set) for an hour or so, before placing it in a place where you can see the birds come and feed from it!
This morning we walked to Tewkesbury Baptist Church to participate in Operation Bible. The whole class were agents, finding out about the miracle work that Jesus had done. The enthusiasm from everyone involved was brilliant to witness.
We hope you enjoyed it Elder Class!
Every child has received a booklet and a pen from their experience.
This week we have focused on 7 and 8 digit numbers.
There was some great evidence on show today to show our progression in reading the numbers in the millions.
