Health & Wellbeing Week got going this week with many activities, including the Inter House Swimming Gala, the Inter House Cross Country competition and Soul Space. One of the most enjoyable activities so far has been yoga - exercising the body, mind, spirit and soul. Well done!
It was great to see so many participants in the Race 4 Life, despite huge downpours of rain at the Vineyards.
It was a magnificent day on Friday as Tirlebrook's Y6 children joined the rest of the school dressing in red, white and blue to mark the Queen's official 90th birthday. Red, White & Blue Day incorporated our special Queen's Birthday tea party in the afternoon, which included: ice-cream, tug of war, hula hooping, our exhibition of work, a dance, a song, a tea party with cake from the school kitchen, and perhaps most importantly, visits from some very special people, including members of Tewkesbury Town Band, the Town Crier, Michael Kean-Price, and the Town Mayor, Cllr Karen Brennan. It was a terrific day! Well done especially to Y6 for setting a brilliant example and looking after the younger children so well, and a special well done to our House Captains for leading their Houses expertly. Thanks also to any parents, family members or other school community members who attended on Friday. It was wonderful and a fitting tribute to HRH Queen Elizabeth II on her 90th birthday.
Mr. Tomkins has put together an excellent slideshow of photos (see below) to share with the whole school community. Enjoy!
Nine girls from Y5 and Y6 took part in the annual Gloucestershire Cricket Board Girls' Kwik Cricket Tournament at Cheltenham Boys College on Thursday. Sixteen teams participated in all and Tirlebrook played well, winning all games in their pool, overcoming St Catherine's, Warden Hill and Temple Guiting. They qualified for the semi-finals but were unfortunately beaten by Bishop's Cleeve. It was a great effort from the girls, many of whom have only just started playing cricket. It was an enjoyable afternoon of lovely sunshine and great sport. Well done!
Squad: Harriet Bethel, Lauren Booth, Cerys Coxshall, Lucie Cummings, Jessica Evans, Olivia Gardiner, Rosie Hiorns, Ria Nuttall & Esme Smith
