Today we were practising things that we thought might help us for SATs...
Is there anything else, specifically you want to do next week before the tests?
We are very lucky to have 4 weeks over at Tewkesbury School. Not only is it a great transitional activity for secondary school, but it will also teach vital library skills and hopefully help build even more enthusiasm for literature.
What did you enjoy the most about the visit? The quiz? Finding some great authors' work?
Tewkesbury School have requested that we assist them by forwarding the following message to remind Y6 families that the information evening for those transferring to the school in September:
We would like to remind you that the parents’ information evening for children joining us in September is taking place this Wednesday evening. The meeting gives information for parents/carers about the curriculum, House and tutoring systems, expectations and opportunities and school uniform. Year 6 pupils are not required to attend as they will receive this information later in the term, however, we appreciate that some families have childcare difficulties, in which case it is fine for children to attend.
Uniform suppliers will be at the event with information and pricing about school uniform – no items will be on sale.
Parking: We expect the event to be well attended so please allow extra time to park. The school’s facilities are also used by other groups on a Wednesday and parking can become fairly busy. There will be extra parking available at Alderman Knight School.
We look forward to meeting you on Wednesday.

What a great start to term; what did you enjoy the most about this virtual reality experience?
Mrs. Gosden and I came across these; we thought you might like them.
Believe in yourself. We believe in you. Be the best you can be.
Well we have got there! It's been a long and a very successful term.
PLEASE LOOK OVER THE BLOG TO APPRECIATE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE ACHIEVED OVER THE PAST 7 WEEKS, SINCE HALF TERM.
If you want to do some preparation for the SATs papers then you know there are many things you can do - from reading a book and talking about them (you now know the style of questions you will get!); some of you have requested a Mathematics Reasoning Paper; there are reasoning questions each day on the 'Maths of the Day' for you to have a go at over the holidays (I will reply whenever I can!); use http://mathsbot.com/starter to keep your fantastic arithmetic skills alive; you can of course buy any material from Amazon or WHSmiths etc if you really want to practise test style; if you have any questions or queries, I will do my best to answer any of them.
Above all, we want you to have a relaxing break, a fab Easter and be ready to start the Summer Term with lots of resilience, self-belief, energy and positive attitudes!
Congratulations to all those who were recognised in this morningn's cup assembly.
We are working hard on this aspect of our Maths - how do you feel you're getting on?
