It was the day before Megan’s big gymnastics competition.
She was very nervous, as she hadn’t had lots of practise. She was in the garden trying hard to remember her routine. When her mum shouted through the window “It is nearly bedtime”.
Megan hated bedtime! As the clock struck 10pm, Megan was still wide awake feeling anxious about tomorrow.
Megan’s alarm went off at 7:45am, she went downstairs for some breakfast but was still tired and begged her mum not to make her go to the competition. A very sleepy, worried girl arrived at the arena, when she saw the stage, she felt overwhelmed. Her mum told her to ‘try her best and stay positive’. That is what she did, Megan took to the stage to perform and everything went as planned, she remembered all the moves and didn’t make one mistake.
At 3:30pm, after everyone had performed, it was time for the presentation, they were just about to announce the winner of the competition, Megan’s heart was beating so hard, “The winner of the competition goes to MEGAN”. When she heard her name being called she was in shock, however she couldn’t believe what she had done. To win the final after being up so late last night stressing was brilliant.
