Olive - Rachel

Living near the heart of the forest was a girl called Olive.

One sunny afternoon the sky went dark and eerie, shadows came swooping in towards her followed by a swam of giant wasps with red, fiery eyes and dark wings.

“RUN!” Olive shouted to her twin sisters Erin and Lucy. They ran as fast as their legs would carry them, over a stream, across a field, until they came to a village. But it was no use- the wasps had caught up with them…

“Aaaagghh!” Erin cried, “The wasp stings are turning me to stone!” and sure enough her shoes were turning grey and it was spreading upwards fast!

“Oh no me too!” Lucy said hurriedly

“Help!” Olive said, “Why is this happening?”

Family on a hill - Oscar

Once there was a sweet loving family who lived on a hill all by themselves.

When Toby was at school one day he got called a 'larry' because he lived in the middle of no where. Later that day people started throwing some of their food at him.

As soon as Toby got home he told his parents all about it. The next day people started throwing things at his house, he then wished he didn't exist and neither did his family; in a flash all of them were inside stone statues.

They started asking things, ''How did we get here?'' and ''What brought us here?''

Mysterious Book - Rachel

‘Tick tock’ the clock was about to strike 12; my parents were fast asleep.

I jumped out of bed and walked over to my book case. I moved my hand towards the book that had a picture of snakes on it, I read it once - it was horrible.

As soon as my finger touched the book the book case span around to reveal a tiny room with small red book in the middle. I opened the book and cycled through it and found a story of a library and “HELP-aaagghh!” the book sucked me in!

The library was beautiful and old... it looked like it was 100 years old!

Ticking Clock - Megan KS

In the King-Smith household the clock was ticking for school, and Sam was downstairs eating beans on toast for breakfast to give him an energy boost before a long day of lessons.

As he cycled, and approached the school gates, he saw something red out the corner of his eye, in some long grass. What could it be? It started to look bigger, and move faster.

As Sam entered the gates at school, he could see it was a red fierce looking snake.

He quickly parked his bike and ran into the office to tell the teachers, who came out to capture the snake. It turned out to be a pet which had escaped from a nearby house. "Phew", thought Sam.

Handman - Rachel

Everyone dreads the evil Handman…

The myth about Handman is known to everyone in our village and quite a few people outside of the village too! Nobody comes here if they can help it…

The Handman comes on one cold winters night every year; runs around, chooses a house - pop - he jumps through your window.

When you're asleep, he creeps up to you, touches your hand and ... - poof your hand vanishes and Handman grows bigger.

Then he slides out of the window and runs back to his home (no one knows where it is!) and rests until he is wakes again next year!

Trapped with a Tiger

We’d triggered the burglar alarm. Now we couldn’t steal the zoo’s keys. Our plan to release the lions to cause chaos was ruined. The angry security guards were on our tail.
We ran and hid in what seemed to be an empty enclosure. But it was far from empty; there was a fierce-looking tiger in the far corner and he did not appreciate being woken up.
The beast rose up like the crest of a wave and was heading right at us. Yikes, the tiger was blocking our escape. This tiger looked particularly hungry and was licking his lips. We were toast!

Danger - Zuzanna

"How could you share a body with someone and then loose the hand-head!" Bellowed Mr Hoveski.

"Someone just cut off my hand I...I...I don't know where it is." Sulked Mr Chandelier.

Slowly, something was rustling in the bushes...

"You lost the most dangerous person in the world - are you out off your mind?!" bellowed Mr Hoveski, now impatient: " Find it and bring it back!"

Still the bush was rustling and a family of bunnies jumped out. Their eyes glistened in the sparkling moonlight like the water. Suddenly, the bunnies eyes turned scarlet. Will the two men get scared?

New Zealand - Megan KS

The King-Smith family lived in New Zealand, their names were Billy,Sharon, Molly, Luke and Elisha.

One morning, as the sun rose, Molly decided to go to town to get some winter boots for Monday night; they were going to watch a live football match. By the time they walked out of the shop the sky was black, every one seemed to have disappeared but not us as we had no idea what was going on.

In the distance, we saw, what looked like a shadow. Molly was scared but she held onto mums hand and walked a bit closer. What was it? Where did it come from? Was it a hand?

A Noise - Megan S

Pit pat pit pat -  a noise came from round the corner, screams, cries “AGHHH!” What was it? It was talking, singing a tune. One of those creepy tunes of a horror movies. A hand emerged, at this point you would expect a scary figure to come round the corner but no!

There was no figure just a hand.

“Eghhhh!”

I tried to scream but all that came out of my mouth was a small squeak.

It’s beady eyes focused on me, one bony finger lifted then pointed at me as it came towards me singing the tune!

How I survived I don’t know but I now live to tell the tail

A Summer's Day - Alex

On a rather sunny summers day Sheldon,a 23 year old scientist, was working late he was supposed to be home by 3 sharp but it was already 5.

He was finishing a experiment when he heard shouting from down the hall.

Curiously he walked down the hall and peeked into the room that he thought the noise was coming from; it was darker than black itself there was a slight shutter noise and out of the darkness came a small hand.

It trotted out of the door and up towards the roof Sheldon followed close behind it stood proudly on the roof and Sheldon was wondering what an earth just happened.
